More Top Tips when Moving Home

Greetings again and welcome back to more tips when creating your move planner. We last talked about contacting your gas and electricity suppliers and a point to make is to provide accurate meter readings on the day you leave your property so that you don’t have excessive bills to worry about. One of the biggest mistakes we make when moving is letting your family and friends know that you are moving away.

Send your change of address details to those within your personal directory to ensure you don’t lose contact with your friends and relatives. If you receive a newspaper or magazine subscription, milk and dairy products delivered to your door, make sure to cancel your account or have it changed to be delivered to your new address.

Remember to contact your insurance companies, such as car insurance and buildings/content insurance to be transferred over to your new property. Let your boss or employer know in addition to your local National Insurance or DSS office so that they can update your records.

Redirecting your mail is an easy process and can be used to buy you some time whilst you inform all the necessary individual parties that you have moved home. Don’t forget to change your telephone number or have it transferred if possible to your new home. Check back for more tips and advice over the next few weeks!
